Polymarket announced on Sept. 10, 2026 that it has appointed veteran finance executive Warren Jenson as chief financial officer, reporting to founder and CEO Shayne Coplan, according to a company press release distributed that day.

The Wall Street Journal described Jenson as Polymarket’s first CFO; the company’s own announcement does not characterize the role that way.

What the role covers

According to the company, Jenson will lead Polymarket’s finance organization, set financial and capital strategy, strengthen long-range planning and build the infrastructure to carry the company into what it called its next phase. The appointment comes as Polymarket says it is scaling its CFTC-regulated U.S. exchange, expanding its global platform and adding senior leaders across the company.

“Prediction markets are changing how the world gets information, and Polymarket is at the forefront of that industry,” Coplan said in the release. “Warren has led finance at some of the most consequential companies in the world, and his experience will be critical to everything we build from here.”

Jenson, in a company statement, said: “Polymarket created a massive new global market category. The opportunity ahead of us is enormous. I’m joining Shayne and the leadership team to put the capital strategy and operating discipline in place to move quickly at scale and continue to push the frontier of this industry.”

Jenson’s background

Per the release, Jenson most recently served as president and CFO at Nielsen, where the company said he led its modernization across finance, strategy, technology, corporate development and the analytics business. Before Nielsen, he was president at LiveRamp, where he led finance and international expansion. Earlier in his career, he held CFO roles at Amazon, Electronic Arts, Delta Air Lines and NBC; the release does not provide dates for those positions.

Jenson serves on the boards of DigitalOcean, Dropbox and Ripple, and holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from Brigham Young University, according to the company.

Regulatory context

The company framed the hire against its regulated U.S. operations. CFTC records show QCX LLC, which the agency notes is now operating under the assumed name Polymarket US, holds designated contract market status, with the record dated July 9, 2025. The company’s release separately states that Polymarket US operates as a CFTC-regulated designated contract market under the Commodity Exchange Act.

The release describes Polymarket as a platform where participants trade on the outcomes of real-world events spanning politics, economics, science, technology, sports and culture. The company’s characterization of itself as the “world’s largest prediction market platform” is its own claim and was not independently verified here.
