Polymarket Launches Squads, a Group-Chat Trading Feature, in Its US App
Polymarket announced on Sept. 8, 2026 the launch of Squads, a private group-chat feature in the US Polymarket app that lets friends discuss markets, share positions and combos, and trade from one another's picks — each through their own individual account.

Polymarket announced on Sept. 8, 2026 the launch of Squads, a social feature inside the US Polymarket app that gives groups of friends a dedicated space to discuss markets, share their picks and trade together, the company said in a press release.
The feature is limited to Polymarket US, the company’s federally regulated US platform, rather than its broader international service. Polymarket described the product as a way to move the prediction debates already happening in group chats onto its own platform, “putting the conversation and the action in one place.”
How Squads Works
According to the company’s announcement, Squads users can create private groups and invite friends to join, chat about games, markets and predictions within the app, share positions and multi-market combos with their group, see what other members are trading, and place trades directly from shared positions and combos.
Each Squad functions as a private space inside the Polymarket app, where members can exchange messages and follow activity across the group. The company described the launch as an effort to combine conversation and trading so friends can “follow the events they care about and make their predictions in one place.”
Separate Accounts, No Pooled Funds Described
The account structure is notable for readers assessing what the product is and is not. Polymarket said every member trades through their own individual Polymarket account while participating in the shared experience. The announcement does not describe pooled funds, a shared group balance, or any delegated trading authority between members — each participant remains responsible for orders placed through their own account.
That design distinguishes the feature from a managed account or investment-club arrangement: positions can be viewed and copied by other group members, but the trades themselves execute in separate individual accounts, per the company’s description.
Executive Framing and a Football-Season Marketing Push
“People are constantly debating what’s going to happen next with their friends and sharing predictions in group chats,” Travis VanderZanden, Polymarket’s chief growth officer, said in the release. “With Squads, we’re bringing the conversation and trading together so friends can follow the events they care about and make their predictions in one place. No better time to start than right before football season kicks off.”
Coinciding with the launch, Polymarket said it will debut Polymarket HQ, what it called its inaugural football-season campaign, directed by Peter Berg. The company said the campaign features LeBron James, Eli Manning, Derek Jeter, Spike Lee, Sue Bird, Richard Sherman, Rajon Rondo and others, and is set inside a fictional Polymarket headquarters where each floor represents a different market. The planned series of spots is intended to showcase Squads, live trading, Combos and other product features. The campaign was announced alongside the product launch; the company did not say when or where the spots would air.
Regulated US Entity and Recent Product History
The Squads feature sits inside Polymarket US, which the company describes as a CFTC-regulated designated contract market under the Commodity Exchange Act. A Commodity Futures Trading Commission filing page lists QCX LLC, doing business as Polymarket US, with the status “Designated,” with a filing date of July 9, 2025, and remarks noting that QCX LLC is operating under the assumed name Polymarket US. That filing date reflects the DCM designation record, not the launch date of the US platform or of Squads.
Polymarket said Squads follows the recent launch of Polymarket Perps, a separate product that the company says lets users trade the price movements of assets across crypto, stocks, commodities and indices. The company characterized Squads as the latest expansion of its platform, which it describes as the world’s largest prediction market — its own characterization of its scale.
What the Company Did Not Disclose
The announcement left several operational questions unanswered. Polymarket did not disclose a group-size limit, a moderation policy, message-retention practices, or whether users can hide selected trades from other members of their Squad. It also did not specify whether shared positions display entry prices, current values or only the direction of a contract, and it published no user numbers, adoption targets or launch economics for the feature.
