Real App Names FanDuel Its First Official and Exclusive Sportsbook and Prediction Market Partner
Real App announced on September 10, 2026 that FanDuel will be its first official and exclusive sportsbook and prediction market partner, bringing FanDuel odds and contextual markets into Real's live sports feeds starting with the 2026 NFL season. The deal links FanDuel's sportsbook and its CME Group-partnered FanDuel Predicts event-contracts platform to Real's self-reported 1.5 million monthly active users.

On September 10, 2026, Real App, a social sports app built around live play-by-play and fan conversation, named FanDuel its first “Official and Exclusive Sportsbook and Prediction Market Partner,” according to a FanDuel press release. The partnership will bring FanDuel odds and contextual markets directly into Real’s live sports experience, the companies said, with the initial integration beginning at the start of the 2026 NFL season and a stated commitment to further integrations in the future.
The “first official and exclusive” designation is the companies’ own characterization of the deal; financial terms, revenue arrangements, and the partnership’s duration were not disclosed.
What the Integration Does
Under the announced arrangement, FanDuel odds, markets and related visualizations will appear across Real’s game feeds, play-level views, player performance screens, team box scores and other real-time surfaces. Contextual markets will be surfaced around key game moments, with links that take eligible users directly to the applicable FanDuel experience. The release said the design pairs FanDuel’s odds presentation with Real’s native interface.
Both companies framed responsible gaming as part of the design: the FanDuel odds and related features will be optional, and Real members will be able to disable them through the app’s settings.
The Companies’ Stated Rationale
“Our members are already using Real to track and discuss their bets in real time, and they’ve been requesting live odds,” said Louis Antonelli, co-founder of Real, in the announcement. “Partnering with a trusted brand like FanDuel gives us a new layer of real-time sports data that we can surface in ways that are additive to the Real experience for members interested in betting.”
Christian Genetski, President of FanDuel, said Real has “built a great community” around the experience of talking about and debating live games, adding that FanDuel is “excited to work with them and find new ways to make FanDuel a natural part of how fans follow and engage with sports.”
Real App’s Self-Reported Scale
The release describes Real App as serving 1.1 million daily and 1.5 million monthly active users across 18 leagues, spanning the NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB, WNBA, college sports, global soccer and tennis, with F1 and horse racing listed as coming soon. The company also reported that more than 70% of monthly active users return on major game days, concurrent users surpassed 250,000 during close games, users spent 4.8 billion minutes on the app over the last 12 months, and nearly 30% of monthly users actively comment. These figures are self-reported by the company in the announcement and have not been independently verified.
The Prediction-Market Side: FanDuel Predicts
The partnership’s “prediction market partner” component connects to FanDuel Predicts, the company’s standalone event-contracts app. FanDuel and CME Group unveiled the platform on November 12, 2025, saying it would launch that December, subject to appropriate regulatory filings. At that announcement, the companies said the app would offer sports event contracts across baseball, basketball, football and hockey — available to customers in states where online sports betting was not yet legal and who were not on tribal lands — alongside contracts on benchmarks such as the S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100, oil and gas prices, gold, cryptocurrencies and economic indicators including GDP and CPI. Contracts were described at the time as priced from $0.01 to $0.99. The state-availability framing dates to that November 2025 announcement.
The FanDuel Predicts product page, retrieved September 14, 2026, shows the product operating and describes it as the app of FanDuel Prediction Markets, a joint venture between FanDuel Group and CME Group. The page is the firm’s own description of the product; it states that the contracts are listed on CME Group derivatives exchanges and that accounts are opened with FanDuel Prediction Markets LLC, which it identifies as a registered futures commission merchant and NFA member.
How the Contracts Work, and the Disclosed Risks
According to FanDuel Prediction Markets LLC’s Event Contracts Information and Risk Disclosure Statement, dated June 2026, the contracts are cash-settled, standardized binary “yes” or “no” derivatives with a fixed payment at settlement. They are fully margined — a buyer pays the full premium and a seller must hold the full notional value — meaning positions are not carried on leverage. The price of a position reflects the market’s assessed probability: the firm’s example describes a $40 premium on a $100 notional contract as implying a 40% market-assessed probability of the event occurring. The disclosure states the firm is a CFTC-registered FCM and NFA member offering contracts listed on CME, and it notes the CFTC has issued no-action relief — the document references CFTC No-Action Letter 26-14 — from certain swap reporting requirements for market participants trading such contracts.
The same disclosure carries a caveat directly relevant to sports event contracts: it warns that some courts and state regulators have taken the position that state gambling, wagering and gaming laws may apply to sports-related event contracts listed on CFTC-registered venues, and that litigation or regulatory action could lead to trading halts, mandatory liquidations or close-outs of customer positions, potentially with little or no advance notice. That evolving legal landscape is part of the context in which the Real–FanDuel prediction-market integration will operate.
